Mihwar Power Services

A generator-rental company in Baghdad gets a bilingual site that reads like its own operations board: fleet by kVA band, response hours per region, availability by month and a sample fuel report.

01

The scenario

The scenario: a temporary-power company founded in Baghdad in 2007, with 160 owned sets, depots in Basra and Erbil and 64 resident operators, but a one-page website with a stock photo and a phone number. Its real strengths, response times, availability and fuel reporting, lived in Excel files that only clients on contract ever saw. Every vendor registration started from zero.

Delivered

  • Existing logo tidied and redrawn in vector: primary, reverse, Arabic-first and header lockups, symbol and app icon (SVG with outlined text, PNG)
  • Bilingual website home page, Arabic and English, responsive down to 360 px, with a live operations board (Baghdad time and the shift on duty)
  • Fleet, response, availability, fuel-report, certificate, HSE and project tables built as site content
  • Two-page bilingual capability statement for the site's download button (PDF)
  • Identity sheet, plus a profile cover and spread showing the site's system in print

#What the reviewer looks forWhere they find it
1Can the company mobilise quickly and keep the power on?The first screen and page 1 of the capability statement give MW in the fleet, sets on hire, 99.6% availability in 2025 and engineer-on-site hours for Baghdad, Basra and Erbil.
2Does the scope of services match the work package?Eight coded services, from short-term rental to load-bank testing, each with a key figure such as kVA range, swap time or load-bank size.
3Does it own the equipment, in the sizes needed?A fleet table by kVA band with number of sets, total kVA, enclosure and ready time, plus sync panels, transformers, load banks, tanks and tankers.
4Is it certified for quality, environment and safety?ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, each with scope, status and certificate number, and the number of technicians authorised for 11 kV switching.
5What is the HSE record, and how are fuel spills controlled?Three years of hours worked, LTI, LTIF per 1,000,000 h, TRIR per 200,000 h, reportable spills and near misses, with the basis stated, and the bund, spill-kit and waste-oil rules.
6Has it done similar work for comparable clients?Five contracts by period, client type, governorate, scope and MW, from oilfield camps to a hospital project; names and references on request.
7Is it registered, insured, and who is the contact?Legal name, company and Kurdistan Region branch registration, tax number, insurance limits and bank reference, with one named contact for tenders and the 24-hour control room number.

Identity

Mihwar means axis. One cycle of alternating current drawn as two half-discs, split by the axis it turns on; the axis is the Run line, the colour of the lamp on a running generator.

Approach

  1. 01

Checked the name. «Mihwar» is not used by any power or generator company in Iraq or the Gulf. Two earlier candidates were dropped: Tayyar, already a backup-power brand in Iraq, and Rakiza, an Omani fund that owns power plants.

  2. 02

Tidied the client's existing mark instead of replacing it: one AC cycle drawn as two half-discs, split by the axis it turns on. The axis takes the Run colour, the lamp on a generator that is running, and the Arabic and English names sit on one line at equal weight.

  3. 03

Set the site on a dark Canopy ground, the deep green of a generator enclosure, with one Run accent. The first screen is an operations board: Baghdad time, the shift on duty, MW in the fleet, sets on hire, availability and response hours.

  4. 04

Turned the Excel files into the site's content: a fleet table by kVA band with ready times, a response table with a simple depot map, monthly availability for 2025 and a sample daily fuel and run-hours report with L/kWh.

  5. 05

Moved the paperwork onto a light Paper ground: three ISO certificates, three years of LTIF and TRIR with their basis, spill controls, and a vendor-registration block with a named contact and the PDF.

  6. 06

Wrote the Arabic page as its own text, with western digits isolated so numbers and hours never flip in right-to-left lines, and checked both pages at 390 px.
